About the Author
Dr. Hyacinth C. Foster was born on the island of Jamaica where she completed her high school education. The next stage on the educational journey involved completing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, and a postgraduate degree in the Teaching of Biological Sciences, at the University of the West Indies, Mona. Jamaica. After migrating to the United States, she would spend many years as the chair of science at a Quaker School in Brooklyn, New York. As a life-long learner, she holds a Doctorate in Education and continues to instill the importance of learning in her children, Trudy, Gregg, and Sharee. As a voracious reader, she continues to hone her writing skills.
About the Book
As a veteran science educator, educational researcher, 5th to 12th grade classroom teacher, and higher education instructor, Dr. Hyacinth C. Foster believes that all students can learn when offered the appropriate opportunities. As a life-long learner, she continues to instill the importance of learning in her children, Trudy, Gregg, and Sharee. As a voracious reader, she continues to hone her writing skills. Her future projects include a cookbook of her favorite Jamaican recipes and a science book just for young children! This book provides an insight into teaching and learning in three independent schools. The content exposes both the amazing potential to educate young minds in such environments and the devastating effect they might present when all stakeholders are not held accountable.
